Pure Potentiality and Co-Creating with Spirit

I have also savoured 1 single drop of Copaiba under my tongue, anointed my 3rd Eye with Frankincense and sipped a freshly brewed Cacao, ceremonial strength, with a little Vanilla Essence to sweeten. This is my little tool kit for writing - a gift from the plants to help me tap into my potential and create something which is hopefully worthy of reading!
Why this particular plant alchemy? Foundational to Ayurveda are the 5 elements. Most of us think of the 4 cardinal elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth but preceding these is Space or Ether, known as Akasha in Sanskrit. Space or Ether is akin to pure potentiality - it is only from this ‘space’ that the other elements can form. This is the element beyond what we can see, feel, smell or touch and yet, we know it is there. We inherently know it exists, like an omnipresent life force or cardinal wisdom. Some people call it ‘Spirit’.
Essential Oils are also classified into the 5 elements, depending on which part of the plant they are gifted to us from. Today I want to write about the oils gifted to us from the resin and seeds - by the element Akasha. Here is a beautiful passage from Gifts of The Essential Oils, which perfectly explains the magnificence of these oils:
The resin is like the ‘blood’ of a plant. It carries life force through and nourishes the plant. Thus, resin essential oils allow you to get to the heartbeat and the flow of who you truly are. Taking Frankincense as an example, an incision is made on the trunk, and the tree immediately knows this, so moves to heal itself. The resin rises from within and comes to the surface. This resin, know as ‘tears’ is collected and distilled for their essential oil. The tree transforms after wounding and returns to wholeness thanks to it’s healing resin. Resin-gifted essential oils offer this gift to you. They take you deep into releasing that which destructively affects you, conscious or unconscious, offering regeneration and replenishment.
Also categorised as Akasha are the oils derived from the seeds of the plants.
A seed is true potentiality. When nothing has started to take form, everything is still possible. Possibilities are what seed oils enable you to ‘birth’ as they touch you with their life-giving essence. Seed oils epitomise eternal patience for they seek the light and truth of what can materialise. Work with seed oils, such a Coriander Seed, Cumin and Fennel to tune into your sheer power, your pure potentiality and then manifest that in the world.
One of my favourite seeds is Cacao - extracted from the bean. Oh my, I never create anything without her. She is at all my parties! She’s there when I teach, write and study. The Cacao tree is a native evergreen found deep in tropical regions of the Americas. Within the tree’s fruit is a valuable bean used to make liquor, cacao solids, cacao butter, cocoa nibs and other culinary delights. It is no wonder that her Latin name translates to mean ‘food of the gods’. The beans have one of the richest histories in the plant world, cultivated centuries ago and later harvested by the Mayans, Toltecs and Aztecs, where cacao was not only used as a food source but also as a currency. These beans also gifted the essential oil absolute, which is acquired through using a solvent to extract the precious fragrant gift that is Cacao.
Cacao is deeply luscious, a succulent blessing for the heart chakra. She raises your emotional frequency, inducing ecstatic feelings of love. Cacao increases your capacity to give and receive greater degrees of pleasure and sumptuousness. When things are going well and something around or within you threatens to sabotage these good feelings, reach for Cacao. She protects your heart centre and mood state, washing away guilt, shame and worry that may arise when the universe is looking favourably on you, and you feel unworthy.

She melts the hardened heart and her aphrodisiacal nature awakens the libido, inviting you to move with grace and dance with your beloved with joyous, carefree, wild abandon. If you are looking at calling a new lover into your life, enshroud yourself with cacao to stir ravishing desires within yourself and potential lovers. Cacao awakens intrigue, encouraging you to take risks in love, step outside your comfort zone and experiment with new opportunities that come your way.
From the history of wealth, cacao continues to draw abundance for those who dance with her today. She creates healthy relationships with money and wealth. Her power will overshadow any feelings of low self-worth or being undeserving as her waves of richness wash over you. When you want to magnetise a new life, invite cacao in. She opens your heart song to new possibilities. Cacao ensures you pour your love into your work and will soon have your rejoicing in your successful endeavours.
Cacao washes away the machinations of the anxious mind, eliminating unnecessary stress, cravings and addiction. She is ideal to support women in their lunar cycle, easing discomfort and emotional upheaval. Cacao shifts your mental energy to plunge deeply into the greater mysteries. She tantalises the seeker’s mind, amplifies intuition and enhances lucid dreaming. Meditation, prayer, introspection and journaling all become ecstatically profound experiences when cacao is present. As a gift from the heavens, cacao awakens the God or Goddess within and invites celebration and rituals in self-love, remembrance, self-care and divine Connections.
Practise
Brew up some cacao or diffuse the oil. Put on your favourite music, grab your pen and notebook or laptop and start writing. Maybe it is just for you, maybe it is something you want others to read, either way she will help you open your heart and express yourself.
