Sumud - steadfastness, perseverance or resilience in Arabic. A concept deeply rooted in Palestinian culture and identity, it represents a way of life and a form of resistance against displacement and occupation. Sumud is not just about enduring hardship, but actively maintaining a presence, preserving cultural identity and striving for a sense of normalcy in the face of adversity.
Please join me for a special sauna session to raise money for the Global Sumud Flotilla. Coordinators, organisers and participants from the Maghreb Sumud Flotilla, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, Global Movement to Gaza & the Sumud Nusantara have united under a common goal: to break the illegal siege on Gaza by sea, open a humanitarian corridor and end the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people. On Augst 31st dozens of boats will set sail from ports around the world, large & small, converging toward Gaza in the largest coordinated civilian flotilla in history.
Most of us have a desire to help in any way we can. Please make a donation and join me in solidarity on the day the boats sail.
This will be small and slow, guided by myself through movement, sauna ritual and yoga Nidra. Help raise money and awareness whilst gifting yourself a moment to be in connection and stillness. Arrive and settle in the yurt, fire on if needed. Slow, intentional kundalini inspired movement, sauna & breath work rituals, yoga Nidra and sound bath. Tea, water & snacks. Small group limited to 8. Please donate what you can.
What to bring:
Once you have made your donation, I will be in touch to confirm your booking and nearer the time you will receive a full list of what you need for your session. For now, here is an indication of suggested things to bring:
Comfortable clothes
Favourite blanket & socks for relaxation (though we will have lots of blankets)
Water bottle
Swimming costume & 2 towels - one to dry yourself and a small one to sit on for hygiene
